Renderform @ Gotham Collectible’s TF Collectors Night

Renderform will be attending the Gotham Collectibles TF Collectors Night, this Saturday, September 18th.  Gotham Collectibles is located in Vancouver BC, Canada.   Along with Gotham, we’ll have a limited edition “Oblivion Ray” up for grabs by a draw.  Only 5 of these exist.  3 will be given away.  Each gun comes with a special card, hand numbered.  Also come check out some of the current projects in person.  Can’t make it?

RF-002 Second Batch Update

The second batch of the RF-002 kits will be going into production today.  It is not too late to get on the waiting list. 100 kits are expected from this batch.  If your interested, send a private message to venksta on either TFW2005.com, Cybertron.ca, Allspark.com, or Seibertron.com.  Not a member of those sites?  Then send a message through the “Contact Us” page.  The link can be found at the top of this page.

RF-002 and RF-003 Waiting list

At the moment, all sales for kits will be conducted through several TF fan sites.  This will make it easier for me to keep track of orders, especially dealing with 50+ people at once.  Since the RF-002 kit is sold out, a waiting list is being used for those interested in future batches.  As well as a waiting list for the release of the RF-003 Blaster upgrade.  To get on any one of these waiting lists, send a private message to “venksta” on either TFW2005.com, Cybertron.ca, Allspark.com, or Seibertron.com.  People on the waiting list will be contacted through the fan site they contact me through.

What Renderform is…

With the launch of the RF-002 Empyrean Espionage kit, I would like to take the chance to let people know about Renderform.  Renderform is not a company, who has access to get products made with steel molds, and ABS plastic.  Renderform is just a simple garage kit “group”, all done by 1 person, with some help from friends.  All this is done in my free time.  Products are hand made in resin, out of my garage.  Since a lot of things are new to me, like resin casting, I won’t get things right on the first go.  But with feedback from others, I can make improvements on future projects.  I will make sure my products are always the best I can put out, at the time.

Special thanks to everyone that has purchased an RF-002 kit from Renderform.  The first batch is sold out.  The second batch will be ready by the end of the month.

RF-002 Design and QC Concerns

With the release of the RF-002 upgrade soon, I would like to take the oppurtunity to point out some flaws I feel everyone should be aware off.   These flaws do no detract from the overall kit, and some people won’t even notice them.  But since they are present, I want you to know about it, in case you are thinking of purchasing a set.

First off, there is an alignment issue at the bottom of the two helmet pieces, once secured together with a screw.  A gap is formed, and the back part lifts up at an angle.  The gap can not be seen, however, as the antennae/ear design, on the front helmet piece, covers it up.  The fitting on the neck joint is still nice and tight, and the helmet can go down when in jetmode with out a problem.

The second QC issue are minor bubbles in the gun castings.  Due to the resin material being used, and the complexity of the gun design, not all bubbles are eliminated.  Some of these can not be seen at all unless looked for.  The easiest bubbles to find are on the back end of the gun.  This varies from casting to casting.  Since the back end of the gun, can only be seen from a specific angle, it does not affect the displayed look.  For future projects, this issue will be solved by changing to a different resin material.

Photos below have been provided to give you an idea of the issues listed above.
