RF-005 – Sales update, Botcon 2011
As stated in the previous update, there will be 150 RF-005 sets available through the website here for purchase. The first batch will be available for sale on May 27th, 2011. The sale will go live at about 6:30pm PST. If you are interested in trying to purchase a kit, please review the rules and information below.
If you are new to Renderform, please take a look around the website about garage kits, and google up reviews on past projects, so you know what to expect from RF-005. Also please review the QC issues list in the previous update, below, for RF-005.
The cost for the RF-005 kit will be $35 CAD plus shipping.
One kit will only be allowed per person.
Submitting your order request does not guarantee you made it into the batch of 50 kits. An email confirmation will be sent out if you missed it. Once you do submit your order, and it is accepted, please allow up to 48 hours to be sent a Paypal invoice. The paypal invoice will contain further details about the order. Please review it before paying. Once paid, your kit will take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to make and ship out. It is possible it could take longer, as delays occur.
For those wondering why only 150 kits are only available, out of the 350 run. There was a waiting list for those that asked in the months since the RF-005 kit was first revealed back in December. This list’s main purpose was to see how much interest was in this kit, and give first dibs to those on the list. The 200 kits reserved for this list, is not gurantueed, as some people on the list might back out from buying. If this happens, those kits will become available here on the website as a 4th batch.
As well, for those going to BotCon, I will be attending the convention this year, and be bringing goodies to give away. As well, I have been getting requests to bring RF-005 kits to sell. So there will be a special version for sale at the convention, which can only be purchased directly from me in person. Full details about this version will be available by next weekend. In the mean time, if you are going to BotCon and want to buy a RF-005 kit in person, head over to the RF facebook page and let me know! This will determine how many sets I will bring.

RF-005 – Upgrade Garage Kit Final Photos
Below are the final photos for the RF-005 garage kit, upgrade set for Uni. Darkwind. This set comes with the following:

The final price will be $35 CAD plus shipping. This kit will be limited to 350 sets. The kit is not currently available for public ordering. Please check back here, and the Renderform Facebook page on when the kit will go up for sale. They will be sold in three batches of 50 sets. I will give a one week notice to give people time to be aware of the sales.
Please be aware, this kit is a hand made item, like all other Renderform items, which are considered garage kits. It is made with urethane plastic resin. Since it is a garage kit, once in hand, some might feel certain parts can be better finished, based on their level of customization. For the most part, kits can be installed right out of the package though.
As well, also be aware of the following two notes about this specific garage kit.
The grey color on the guns and helmet will not be 100% matched to the toy. This is impossible with my limited resources. However, it will be close as possible.
There is a QC issue you must be aware of. Once the helmet is attached, there is a gap between the two parts. I’ve done my best so far to figure out a solution to fix this, but haven’t found any to date. You can see this issue in one of the photos. It might be possible to close the gap by gluing the helmet. One of the reasons this gap occurs is because the screw is higher up, to accommodate the LED in the neck joint. If I had access to smaller screws, I might have been able to fix this issue for sure. But it’s not certain really. I’ve shown the finished head to several TF fans/collectors. Their reaction is mixed. So I expect the same from all of you online. I feel for display purpose, the gap won’t be an issue. But if you will be playing with the toy, you might notice it a lot, when viewing from the side. I will try to see if I can fix it before shipping, but I can not guarantee anything.
RF-004 Orders Update
Any kit paid for before April 1st, your order has been shipped out. For those that have not had their kits shipped out, please feel free to contact me to get an update and ETA on when your kit will ship. As always, I will reply as soon as possible. Thank you all for your patience while these kits were or are being created.
Orders on hold…
Due to the high volume of current orders, any new orders placed this month so far will not be processed for another two weeks. As well, I’ll be removing the order page on the RF website for the time being. Sorry for any inconvenience.
RF-002 Update
To make sure people don’t miss out on the RF-002 Empyrean Espionage Upgrade kit for Universe Skyfall, please be aware there are now less than 75 kits left for direct sale. There are still plenty of RF-002B kits left, but those are also limited. This kit will not be reissued, especially with the amount of time its been available for. So don’t miss your chance to buy one directly from me.
RF-004 Order updates
For anyone who placed an order for an RF-004 kit, and did not receive an email, or invoice, here is what might of happened. If you did not enter your email, then your order form was ignored, since there is no way to contact you. As well, the last 30 orders that were submitted, have not been processed. So if you did enter your email, your order is on standby, while I make sure there are enough RF-004 kits.
If I have enough kits left, you will either get an invoice for the kit you asked for. Or, be offered the alternative version of the kit, which you want, in case I ran out. If no more kits are left, I will let you know.
As well, to find ways to make more RF-004 kits available, while keeping the RED and BLACK sets unique, I am thinking of some new ideas. For example, a new Red head set, with yellow eyes, a black gun, and a black shoulder launcher with translucent red parts. This is just an idea. As I can not reissue the previous two kits, I can release a different version, which is set apart for the first two.
If you have missed out on the RF-004 kit, and are interested in a new version, please post your opinion in the links below. Or, if you did pay for a RF-004 kit, and want your opinion heard about a 3rd version, feel free to voice your opinion as well. I want to do my best not to upset anyone, if a new kit is released.
Order update on RF-004 #2
I have gone through most of the order forms submitted. Many people did not leave their emails, so I can not contact you or send an invoice. This left some room to accommodate everyone who submitted an order, before the RF-004R and RF-004B sets were removed from the order page. For the 30 orders left, to go through. I will check through them later in the week, and send invoices, to those who filled the forms out with the proper information.
For those that did not submit an order but would still like to get a RF-004 kit. Please stay tune to this site, or the Renderform Facebook page for any updates if there is any kits left.
Order update on RF-004 #1
I am still processing orders. Any orders sent, after the last update, will most likely not be able to be filled. I apologize I did not anticipate the demand for this upgrade kit.
RF-004 will not be reissued, or have a second run. Once the entire 275 kits are made, the masters will be retired. However, if you follow some of my threads on various boards, I have mentioned of doing a new, very limited upgrade for Sideswipe’s head. This would be a totally new mold, along with remolded guns and shoulder rocket launcher. As this is still something planned, but very far from release, I will state that a red version of that head will be released along side with it. Hopefully, this will lower the demand on the RF-004 kit. And for those that didn’t make it, you can wait for this other kit, later in the year. I will make sure enough is made, for the initial demand, at the time of release.
RF-004 Orders Stopped
I’m sorry to inform everyone, but orders are now stopped for the RF-004 sets. I have over 80 orders submitted, which I need to go through. I can’t guarantee everyone who placed an order will get a chance to buy the set. I will give first chance in accordance of when people submitted their orders. I will also have to now limit 1 kit per person, to ensure as many individuals can get a set.
As well, all submitted orders which are missing names, address, or email addresses, will be ignored. As those information are important for me to create an invoice.
