RF-002 Design and QC Concerns

With the release of the RF-002 upgrade soon, I would like to take the oppurtunity to point out some flaws I feel everyone should be aware off.   These flaws do no detract from the overall kit, and some people won’t even notice them.  But since they are present, I want you to know about it, in case you are thinking of purchasing a set.

First off, there is an alignment issue at the bottom of the two helmet pieces, once secured together with a screw.  A gap is formed, and the back part lifts up at an angle.  The gap can not be seen, however, as the antennae/ear design, on the front helmet piece, covers it up.  The fitting on the neck joint is still nice and tight, and the helmet can go down when in jetmode with out a problem.

The second QC issue are minor bubbles in the gun castings.  Due to the resin material being used, and the complexity of the gun design, not all bubbles are eliminated.  Some of these can not be seen at all unless looked for.  The easiest bubbles to find are on the back end of the gun.  This varies from casting to casting.  Since the back end of the gun, can only be seen from a specific angle, it does not affect the displayed look.  For future projects, this issue will be solved by changing to a different resin material.

Photos below have been provided to give you an idea of the issues listed above.
